One Niche, Two Niche—Our Niche, Your Niche
You can find a niche for just about anything these days… it’s pretty remarkable! People are following their dreams and creating all kinds of opportunities for others with often a domino effect.

Take us for example. Electronic Imaging Materials, Inc. (EIM) started when our founder, Paul Henkel had an idea back in March of 1987. Paul’s background was in Optics Engineering as well as a great amount of experience in the chemistry field. With his knowledge and experience, he started a consulting business to solve label applications in the fast-growing barcode industry. By starting EIM, Paul created an important niche for many other businesses. He was [probably] unaware at the time, of just how much his niche would help so many others in the future!  Who would’a thought?!

Over the years, it has been interesting for us to get to know our customers, learning about their diverse labeling applications and helping them in their respected niches! We have customers in all kinds of work―all over the world―from laboratories to electronics, warehouses to small businesses, and everything in between.

A type of label product you may not realize we offer is for fabric labeling. To give you an example of how our cloth labels and barcodes work together….One of our customers has created an interesting niche providing identification solutions for costume shop managers in the dance and theatre industries. They provide patrons with garment and theatrical property labels along with inventory software and rack solutions for vast costume collections, props assortments and the like.

This unique business purchased both G Series and S4M Zebra printers to print “on demand” custom labels for their clientele. They use our thermal transfer 401 sew-in and 1402 iron-on nylon cloth labels as well as our ThermalMark® Plus polyester labels to create endlessly creative identification for their unusual customer base.  Since their printing is tailored to each buyer, a company name, logo, sequential numbers and barcodes can be printed to meet specific needs. Their cloth tags are incredibly easy to read, soft to the touch and are simple to apply.  Their durable polyester labels have an all-purpose adhesive to bond to all kinds of stage decorations. The end results are beautifully printed labels and tags that can withstand multiple wash cycles, ironing, long-term storage and abuse from constant handing…you name it!
