Technical Support  for PocketPC Bar Code Terminals

Enabling a Motorola Symbol PocketPC's Scanning Ability
 

On a new PPT2800 or PDT8100 the scanning ability must be enabled by installing ScanWedge.exe

1. Install Microsoft ActiveSync onto your PC (Required to transfer files to and from the PC)

2. Use serial connection cable to connect PocketPC to PC (or use infrared port if desired)

3. Transfer ScanWedge .exe to PocketPC and place it in the StartUp directory: 
    My Device (top directory) / windows / startup

Note: in certain mono devices, you must disable the infrared support before starting ScanWedge. Select "Settings" from the Start menu, then click the "Connections" tab. Chose the Beam icon and make sure the "receive" checkbox is NOT checked.

4. After clicking the ScanWedge.exe program on the PocketPC, or performing a soft reboot, the scanner will work correctly.
